Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the website burgoslawgroup.com (the “Website”) and the “Mi Caso” / “My Case” client portal (the “Portal”), operated by Burgos Law Group (Carlos Eduardo Burgos Gonzalez Law Group PLLC) (“Burgos Law Group”, “we”, “us”). By using the Website or the Portal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
1. No Legal Advice and No Attorney-client Relationship
The Website provides general information about immigration law and our firm. It is not legal advice, and it may not reflect the most recent changes in the law. Every case is different; do not act or refrain from acting based on the Website without speaking with a qualified attorney.
Using the Website, calling us, sending us a WhatsApp message or email, booking a consultation, or using the self-assessment tool does not create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship begins only when we agree to represent you and we both sign a written engagement agreement. Until then, please do not send us confidential information about your case.
2. Our Services Are Governed by Your Engagement Agreement
If you become our client, the legal services we provide are governed by your engagement agreement and by the rules of professional conduct that apply to our attorneys. These Terms cover only the use of the Website and the Portal. If these Terms conflict with your engagement agreement, the engagement agreement controls. Nothing in these Terms limits our professional obligations to you.
3. Attorney Advertising
This Website may be considered attorney advertising. Prior results, reviews and testimonials do not guarantee a similar outcome; the result of each case depends on its own facts and law. Attorney responsible for the content of this Website: Carlos Eduardo Burgos Gonzalez, New York Bar No. 5593405, 48 Wall Street, Suite 1100, New York, NY 10005. Immigration law is federal law; our attorneys are licensed in the jurisdictions stated in their biographies. Practice at our Florida and Texas offices is limited to federal immigration matters.
4. The Self-assessment Tool
The Website includes a short questionnaire that suggests next steps based on your answers. It is a general guide, not an evaluation of your case. Your answers are processed in your browser to show the suggestion and are not sent to us unless you choose to send us a message.
5. The Client Portal
The Portal is available only to our clients and the family members on their case.
- Signing in. You sign in with a code we send to your registered email. Keep access to that email secure and do not share your codes. Tell us right away if you believe someone else has accessed your Portal.
- Accurate information. Please give complete and truthful answers in questionnaires and tell us when your information changes. We rely on what you provide to prepare your filings.
- Case status is informational. Status information in the Portal, including information obtained from USCIS, may be delayed or incomplete. Official notices from USCIS, the immigration courts or other agencies always control. Do not rely on the Portal for deadlines; your legal team will tell you about deadlines directly.
- Not for urgent matters. For anything urgent, such as a detention, an arrest or a deadline, call us.
- Suspension. We may suspend Portal access to protect your information or our systems, or when our representation ends.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Website or Portal for any unlawful purpose;
- try to access another person’s information or any part of our systems you are not authorized to use;
- interfere with the security or operation of the Website or Portal, including through automated scraping, probing or overloading; or
- copy, sell or reuse the Website’s content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
7. Electronic Communications and Signatures
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, including through the Portal and by email, and that documents you sign electronically through our e-signature provider have the same effect as signatures on paper, as permitted by law.
8. Third-party Services
The Website and Portal link to or use services run by other companies, such as scheduling (Setmore), messaging (WhatsApp), maps and reviews (Google), payments (LawPay) and electronic signature (SignWell). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Reviews
Reviews shown on the Website are written by real clients and are reproduced as written from our public Google Business profile, where all of our reviews can be read. They reflect individual experiences and do not guarantee results.
10. Intellectual Property
The content of the Website, including text, graphics, logos and design, belongs to Burgos Law Group or is used with permission. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use.
11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Website and Portal are provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep them accurate, secure and available, but we do not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, Burgos Law Group is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Website or Portal.
